UACJ to Open R&D Center in Thailand

Strengthening Local-based R&D in Southeast Asia following Japan and North America

TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep. 03, 2018

UACJ Corporation (TOKYO:5741)(Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director & President: Miyuki Ishihara; hereinafter “UACJ”) has established the R&D Center (Thailand) as an R&D base for aluminum materials, which have growing markets in Asia.

R&D Center (Thailand) is UACJ’s third research and development base following Japan and United States as part of its globalization of research and development, and located in the vicinity of Bangkok (Thailand) offering an easy access to the UACJ’s production bases and customers in the ASEAN region. The UACJ Group regards Thailand as a core production base in ASEAN, and has established UACJ (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a core factory, which is expanding now. In addition to that, UACJ also has Group companies (UACJ Extrusion (Thailand) Co., Ltd., etc.) in Thailand. In the ASEAN region, the UACJ Group companies such as UACJ Foil Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. and UACJ Foundry & Forging (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. are producing and supplying the various types of aluminum materials as well.

Establishing the R&D Center (Thailand) will enable UACJ to provide quick and accurate technological services to the customers in the ASEAN region and develop new products and technologies according to regional needs.
