GlobalEnglish Customer, Clifford Chance, Facilitates Donation of Licenses to Center Staff Working With Asylum Seekers so They Can Improve Their Daily English Communication Skills
GlobalEnglish Corporation (www.GlobalEnglish.com), the leading provider of on-demand assessment, learning and support for business English communication, today announced its donation of software licenses to Clifford Chance Foundation for the Bangkok Refugee Center (BRC). The GlobalEnglish Corporate Learning Service(TM) will be distributed to BRC staff, enabling them to improve their English skills so they may be more effective in their work with refugees and asylum seekers.
Located in Bangkok, the BRC provides refugees and asylum seekers with much needed care and services such as financial and emergency aid, medical assistance, educational services, psycho-social and community outreach activities.
For the past two years, Clifford Chance Foundation has provided financial assistance to the BRC for daily educational activities for children of asylum seekers as well as for adult skills training, in particular English and Thai language skills and cooking skills.
BRC staff is required to use English on a daily basis to communicate with the refugee and asylum seeker population and to produce written documents in English. GlobalEnglish's online service is personalized to each individual learner, allowing BRC staff to focus on the key English communication skills with which they need the greatest assistance. The GlobalEnglish service is appropriate for all skill levels from beginner to advanced, and the curriculum is modeled around practical lessons so newly acquired English skills can be immediately used on-the-job.
"We are so grateful to Clifford Chance Foundation for providing our staff with licenses to the GlobalEnglish service. This is such a flexible solution: BRC staff can access the on-demand service at times that are most convenient for them and work through the coursework at their own pace. Enrolling staff in private institutes for English language training is inefficient and costly in comparison when you consider transportation fees, travel time and time away from the center," said Fr John Murray OSA.
"We are delighted to be able to extend our partnership with Clifford Chance to support the charitable works of the Clifford Chance Foundation," said GlobalEnglish President and CEO Deepak Desai. "I greatly admire the work that the Foundation is doing with charities and NGOs around the world, and it is an honor to extend GlobalEnglish's services to the Bangkok Refugee Center. Improved English skills empower individuals to do their jobs with greater confidence and efficiency."
Located in the heart of Bangkok, Bangkok Refugee Center (BRC) provides many services to refugees and asylum seekers in an attempt to better their lives through different facets of aid. The BRC is administered by the Catholic Office for Emergency Relief and Refugees (COERR), an organization working in Thailand devoted to help refugees and asylum seekers, which operates as part of Caritas Thailand. Located in the heart of Bangkok, the Bangkok Refugee Center provides many refugees and asylum seekers with much-needed care and works with these individuals to help them survive.
